1. ANTI RAGGING CELL.

Introduction.

The college has a fully functional anti ragging cell. The main objective of this cell is to sensitize the students against ragging and to inform them about the consequences of ragging offences. The college creates a stable environment for the new comer students so that they have a good atmosphere for study in the college and not to worry about any reasons for raging. The college take strict action against any such offences of ragging.

2. Anti Sexual Harassment cell.

Introduction:

Anti Sexual Harassment Committee deals with issues relating to sexual harassment. The committee is formed to prevent sexual assault, rape, and other related crimes on girl students.

Goal : Prevention of sexual harassment to ensure safe environment for girl students for the studies.

OBJECTIVES

1. To fulfil the directive of the Supreme Court, as per UGC directives and the Mangalore University in respect of implementing a policy against sexual harassment in the institution.
2. To evolve a mechanism for the prevention and redressal of sexual harassment cases and other acts of gender-based violence in the institution.
3. To ensure the implementation of the policy in letter and spirit through proper reporting of the complaints and their follow-up procedures.
4. To provide an environment free of gender-based discrimination.
5. To ensure equal access of all facilities and participation in activities of the college
6. To create a secure physical and social environment which will deter acts of sexual harassment
7. To promote a social and psychological environment that will raise awareness about sexual harassment in its various forms.

3. WOMENS CELL

Introduction:

To instil positive self-esteem and confidence in the female students so that they can take the right decision in and for-their lives. Spreading awareness among the students about the social, legal, and constitutional rights of women in order to prevent the exploitation based on gender.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To sensitize the community on gender equity issues through organizing sensitivity programmes like seminars, publishing handouts etc.

To promote general harmony and prevent discrimination of women and sexual harassment in the institutes by providing practical suggestions to the administration from time to time,.

To deal with any instance of discrimination of women or sexual harassment by an employer or students in respect of any other employee or students of JIS College of Engineering.

To make students aware of Gender Equity.

To help students to change their mindset and attitude towards life in terms of women.

To build a society with social and economic gender equality as envisaged in the Indian Constitution through social service.

To reach out to women in the rural areas and make them aware of their social and legal rights and to equip them to stand against gender violence and gender discrimination.

To create awareness, instill values and develop the personality and leadership quality.
