NSS Camp was organised by Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Degree College, Gandhinagar ,Mangalore in Sri Dattatreya Higher Primary School, Kurnad Mudipu from 23 March 2024 to 29 March 2024.

Inauguration program was held in the presence of Shree Vasanth Karandoor, Correspondent and Dr. Ashalatha S Suvarna, Principal of SGC; Mrs. Lolakshi, President of Kurnad Grama Panchayat; Mr. Ganesh Nayak, Correspondent of Sri Dattatreya Higher Primary School, Kurnad; Dr. Umappa Poojari, Former Academic Dean of SGC and Mrs. Vasanthi. P Headmaster of Sri Dattatreya Higher Primary School .

More than 50 students participated in the camp. NSS unit experienced various social activities with the sole view of rural development and value education. Camps had many aims such as cleaning the surroundings and the ground of Shree Dattatreya Higher Primary School, cleaning the surroundings of Zilla Panchayath and craeting awareness on Dengue, Malaria, AIDS and students learnt leadership qualities, Personal Development etc.Students experienced a different life rather than routine life. They experienced Yoga, Exercises, Shramadana (donation of labour) in daytime and evening time they enjoyed cultural programs. Totally it was a fun filled useful camp.

On 29th closing period of the camp Dr. Ashalatha S Suvarna, Principal of SGC,Mr. Ashraf, Vice President of Kurnad Grama Panchayat,Mr. Ganesh Nayak, Correspondent of Sri Dattatreya Higher Primary School, Kurnad; Mrs. Vasanthi P, Headmaster of Sri Dattatreya Higher Primary School where there in the function. Dr. Sheshappa Ameen, Assistant professor, Government First grade College, Mudipu, Expressed His words of gratitude. Mr. Balachandra, NSS program officer co-ordianted the program throughout.


Commerce Association of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Degree College organized GST-A Practical Approach 30 hours certificate course for UG and PG students on 22nd March 2024 in the college Auditorium. Dr. Ravi M. N, Associate Professor and Coordinator Department of PG studies Government First Grade College, Belthangady was the resource person for the event and he inaugurated the program. Dr Ashalatha Suvarna, Principal of SGC; Mr. Mithun Chandra, Commerce Association Coordinator; Mr. Yatheen, IQAC Coordinator; Mrs. Ashitha, Staff Coordinator present during the occasion and the session was carried over by Dr. Ravi M.N for 2 hours and more than 40 students benefited by this session.


On March 18, 2024, our college presented the captivating drama "Uthana Parva" in collaboration with   Journey Theatre Group, Mangalore,  Its captivating plot and the outstanding acting in the production that took place in the college open air stage enthralled spectators. The ability and commitment of our students to bring characters to life on stage was demonstrated

Shekhar Poojary,  member of the college governing body Dr. Rameela Shekar,  former academic dean, Dr. Ummpappa Poojary, Drama Director & Theatre artist Mr.Viddu Uchil, Cultural Secretary of  Journey theatre  group Mr.Sunil Palamajjal  the  Cultural secretary, Dr.Nisha Yuvaraj   were present during the occasion ,
Students performance struck a chord with the audience, creating a memorable impression, and the drama, rich in passion and depth, took viewers into a world of fantasy. More than 200 people attended, and students received excellent training from Journey theatre artists Overall, the college drama event was a resounding success, highlighting the creativity and artistic powers of our students .

Our college recently organised an engaging workshop on music and drama on 14th March 2024, aimed at fostering creativity and artistic expression among students. The workshop held in the college auditorium attended by more than 40 students from different colleges who were eager to explore the realms of music and theatrical performances. Vidhu Uchil, Manish pinto, Jeevan Siddhi, Raghav Sury were the resource person who conducted the session covering various aspects of music composition, vocal techniques, acting presentation, Rhythm, Group skit. Throughout the workshop. Participants were encouraged to collaborate, share ideas, and support one another in their artistic endeavours. overall, the music and drama workshop provided a valuable platform for students to cultivate their artistic talents, build confidence and lasting connection with the peers who share a love for the performing arts.


As part of International Women's Day, a session aimed at introducing women writers and raising awareness of their writings was held in the College library on March 9, 2024. To celebrate, a book display featuring works by female authors was arranged. Dr. Ashalatha S. Suvarna, the college principal, Inaugurated and Presided over the event. She discussed the accomplishments of women with the students. Students were given a quiz on the books that were on display for the occasion. Librarian Divya  and Staff member Sudha and Shekhar were present during the occasion .


The Parents Teacher Association of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Degree College had its annual general body meeting on March 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the college auditorium. The Principal of Govt. First Grade College, Bantwal, Dr. Prabhakar Shishila, gave a speech on the topic of "The Role of Parents in Academic Excellence." The program was presided by Shri Vasanth Karandoor, Correspondent, Shree Gokaranantheshwara College. Mr. Balachandra, the PTA secretary and Mr. Umesh Hegde, the treasurer, delivered the association's reports for the previous academic year. Mr. Krishnanada Bhatt, President of PTA, and Dr. Ashalatha S. Suvarna, Principal of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College, were present at the event. Dr. Nisha Yuvaraj conducted the program's proceedings, and Mr. Yatheen Anchan, an assistant professor of commerce, proposed the vote of thanks.


On March 8th, 2024, a General Medical Camp was held at Kodical's Kannada Medium High School. The NSS unit of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Degree College, Gandhinagar Mangalore, in association with MCF Mangalore, Dhanush Friends Circle, Kodikal, and the Doctors and Medical Team of KMC Attavar, volunteered their services for this one-day camp. Dr. Bharat Shetty.Y Inaugurated the camp. Chethan Mandoja, Joint General Manager of MCF; Suraj Shetty, Senior Manager of MCF; ASI Vinay from Urva Police Station, and Yatheesh, Chairman of Dhanush Friend Circle, attended the inaugural event. Balachandra, SGC's NSS program Officer and more than 20 students of UG contributed to the good cause.


On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Department of library hosted a Guest Talk on the “Importance of Mother Tongue” and a Book Exhibition of Tulu - Kannada on 21st Feb 2024, in the college library. Smt. Suchitra Shetty, Lecturer, Department  of kannada, Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College Of Education was the chief guest.  Dr. Ashalatha S Suvarna Principal, presided over the program. Mrs. Sujatha, PG Co-ordinator,  Ms Divya,  Librarian, Mr Yatheen Anchan, IQAC Co-ordinator, and Library Supporting  Staff Mrs. Sudha and Mr. Shekar were present  during the occasion.
A quiz was organised for students based on the books displayed at the college library. Mr Yatheen Anchan expressed his words of gratitude.


On 20th February 2024, the Commerce Association (UG & PG) organized Workshop titled "Financial Education for Young Citizens of India" for final-year B.A. and B.Com students. The Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and the National Institute of Security Market (NISM) collaborated on the event. The opening ceremony got underway at the College Auditorium at 9:45 a.m. Sri.Vasanth Karandoor, Correspondent, Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Educational Institutions was the Chief Guest.Dr. Ummappa Poojary, the former academic Dean of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Educational Institutions, was the Guest of  honour. Dr. Sharman Kumar Shetty, a financial consultant and entrepreneur, was the resource person.The aim of the workshop was to enhance the students' comprehension of financial concepts and foster financial awareness among them.Understanding India's Financial System, Fundamentals of Investments and Depository Services, Understanding India’s Security Market and Creating wealth and Financial Education for Young Citizen.

Release of Conference Brochure: On this occasion , the conference brochure for the upcoming national conference, "VIKASITH BHARAT @ 2047," which is scheduled  on March 22, 2024, was released. The conference is being hosted by Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College in association with the Billava Employees Welfare Society. The brochure was  released by Sri Vasanth Karandoor, Correspondent of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Institutions,in the presence of   Dr. Ashalatha Suvarna , Principal , Dr. Ummappa Poojary, Former Dean-Academic, Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Institutions.


Certificate course in Theatrical Practices and Drama Production was inaugurated on 11th February 2024 at 9.30 am in the college auditorium. The correspondent of the college Sri Vasantha Karandoor  after inaugurating the certificate course in theatrical practices and drama production opined that theatrics is one of the oldest form of art and will continue to remain till the civilization exists.
Theatrical training provides range of skills crucial for performers, including acting techniques, voice projection, character development and presence of mind. It also fosters creativity, confidence, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to various roles and situations said Mr Sunil Pallamajalu cultural co-ordinator, Journey Theatre group. He was addressing the students undergoing training in theatrical practices.  He also opined that theatrics provide soothing effect to all kinds of mental stress. There is no incident where an artist has committed suicide.
Dr Ashalatha S Suvarna, Principal of the college welcomed the gathering and provided an overview of the certificate course. Fine Arts coordinator Dr Nisha Yuvaraj proposed vote of thank while Ms Akshitha compered. Mr Viddu Uchil Course director was present during the occasion.

On 26th January 2024, Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College of Education celebrated the 75th Republic day of India with happiness and pride in te college ground. The program began at 9.30 A.M with a prayer song. Dr.Dhanalakshmi.M  principal of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara college of education welcomed the gathering. Later Dr.Rameela Shekar, member, college governing body, the esteemed chief guest of the function hoisted the flag. The national anthem and the patriotic songs that followed the flag hoisting strengthened the patriotism in us. " Be mindful, conscious, committed, responsible and just love the nation" being the proud citizen of this democratic country is what Dr.Rameela Shekar said while she addressed the gathering. Mr Vasanth Karandoor, the correspondent of the college, principals of various section of the college Dr. Ashalatha Suvarna, Mr Raghuraj, Mrs S Sujatha, members of the college governing body  Mr B.G. Suvarna, Mr Shekhar Poojary, Mr Vijay, Mr Mithra Heraje, Mr Praveen Kumar, Mr Chandan Das,  graced the occasion with their presence. Ms. Sushma, teacher educator of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College of Education delivered the vote of thanks and Mrs. Swathi, first year B.Ed student was the master of the ceremony.


Shree Gokaranantheshwara college in association with IQAC organized one day workshop on NAAC preparedness for all the staff of the college  on 24 th January 2024. Dr Ramila shekar member governing council Shree Gokaranantheshwara college Inaugurated the program. Dr Namaratha Suvarna Professor ,The Yenepoya Institute of Arts ,Science,Commerce and Management ,Mangalore ,was the resource person who gave her deliberations on naac preparedeness. How to manage AQAR and how to prepare SSR reports and all other matters where discussed and inputs where given . Dr Ashalatha Suvarna ,Principal shree Gokaranantheshawra college welcomed the gathering and Dr Jayaprakash delivered the vote of thanks.


Commerce Association  with PG Department of Commerce  organised one day workshop on “ Team Building” on 14t December 2023 In the  College Auditorium. Dr. Ajaya Assistant Professor, Govt. First Grade College and PG Studies Centre, Haleyangadi. Was the resource person.The workshop aimed  to enhance the students’ skills in leadership, Management, Team Building, Communication and interpersonal skills and facilitate overall personality of the students.  50 Students of M.Com and Final B.Com benefited from  the workshop and the methodology used during the workshop was mainly group activity, individual work and discussions. The workshop commenced with an Prayer song, followed by the inauguration ce.  Ms. Sushmitha of Final   M.Com welcomed the gathering.   Dr. Ashalatha  the Principal, Degree Section  of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College    delivered the inaugural keynote address, highlighting the importance of the workshop in fostering an impressive personality and developing leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Mr. Yatheen, faculty of the UG department gave  brief introduction about the resource person . Ms. Prathima of I M.Com carried with the proceedings of the program


One day workshop on Soft skill Training programme was organized by PG Department of Commerce and IQAC on 5th January 2024 at Shree Gokarnantheshwara College Auditorium to Mcom students. Mr. Lohith.G. Udyavar, International Master trainer in soft skills,Co-founder- VEDZ International founding Team Bangalore, was the resource person  where he said “Soft skills contribute to increased confidence, critical thinking and problem solving abilities and also how it helps preparing students for success in various aspects of life.” He explained various topics on leadership, communication, creative thinking, problem solving, decision making with activity.UG Principal: Dr. Ashalatha Suvarna, PG Principal: Mrs.Sujatha.S, Staff incharge:Mrs.Ashwini.K.R, IQAC Cordinator: Mr. Yatheen, Staff  coordinator: Capt Praveen student coordinators: shivkumar and chaithra inaugurated the programme by lightening the lamp. UG Principal: Dr. Ashalatha Suvarna and PG principal Mrs Sujatha  Presided over the program by highlighting the importance of Soft skill training programme and also motivated the students to actively practice and apply these skills to enhance their overall professional competence. The objective of  the programme is to enhance communication, teamwork, adaptability, and leadership skills, fostering their ability to navigate a dynamic business environment. Dhanyashree from 2nd Mcom welcomed the gathering, shivkumar of II Mcom delivered the vote of thanks and Sushmitha of II Mcom was the Master of ceremony.


Fire Fighting Demonstration and Lecturing
Shree Gokarnanatheshwra College ,NCC Army wing &  IQAC  organisesd one day Fire fighting demonstration and lecturing on 13th December 2023 at 2 :00 pm in  the college premises. Fire officer of Pandeshwar fire station Dayananda and their team gave   a wonderful talk,,demonstration  and also  rescue for different types of fire danger .  200 students benefited from this demonstration cum lecturing including puc degree and NCC students. UG Principal Dr Ashalatha Suvarna, PUC Principal Mr Raghuraj ,NCC Army Wing Officer Capt. Praveen ,IQAC Co-ordinatior Mr Yathin were present in the programme.
