Student Council :
Student council is a group of student representatives who are elected by their peers to represent their class or association and to provide a voice for students in college decision-making. The council plays an important role in promoting leadership, teamwork, and in helping to build a sense of community within the college.
Any student who is interested in running for a position on the student council must typically be in good academic standing and be able to demonstrate leadership skills and a commitment to serving their fellow students. Students who are elected to the student council are usually responsible for organizing events and activities, representing the student body in meetings with college administration, and working to improve the college environment for all students.
The National Service Scheme :
The National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) focuses on the development of the personality of students through community service under the banner of shramyeva Jayathe. The dream of the father of the nation is rightly put into action by the volunteers.
The College runs 1 unit, comprising 100 volunteers. It effectively channels the energy and interest of the students to take up social, cultural and community development programmes. As NSS members they have to put in 120 hours of work per year and work as volunteers for two consecutive years. Annual camp is conducted in a remote village to provide exposure on community engagement. In recognition of his service, a volunteer is awarded with a certificate by the University. Also, BEST NSS VOLUNTEER award is given to encourage the volunteers to take up community services. Volunteering for various tasks under NSS activities allows students to become confident, develop leadership skills, and learn about different people from different walks of life.
National Cadet Corps (NCC) :
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a voluntary organization engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. NCC students are given basic military training in small arms and parades. To be an NCC cadet is like being unique, hardworking, dedicated, punctual, and most of all, an achiever. It inculcates the attitude of never giving up, makes you optimistic, and builds a lot of self-confidence and character. Life as a cadet is one of the best experiences one can ever have as it teaches them life as it is and shows how it is to be an officer in the Indian Armed Forces.
Many students of our college have participated at the various camps organized by the NCC unit. Many have obtained C and B certificates. Our college NCC unit is a dedicated army wing unit which is contributing in building up the personality, character, and pride of nationalism in the student’s fraternit.
Sports Association :
A Sound mind resides in a sound body. To inculate confidence, team spirit, national pride, strict sense of discipline and to keep the students, alert and vibrant, worth while measures are taken to promote sports and games in the college.
The college has a great reputation when it comes to achievement in sports. Stalwarts like Mamatha Poojary (Capt. Indian women’s kabaddi team), Sahana Kumari (Olympian high jumper), Shreema Priyadarshini (Indian team athlete) and many more sports persons have represented in various disciplines at the international, national and inter university levels.
In a bid to promote sports in our college the sports association conducts various inter mural tournaments and pro leagues to help students showcase their talents in sports. Annual athletic meet is also conducted by the college.
Red Cross Unit:
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) is a remarkable organization that plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our society by nurturing compassionate, responsible, and socially conscious individuals. One of the standout features of the YRC is its commitment to fostering a sense of social responsibility among young people. Through a range of activities, including blood donation drives, disaster preparedness programs, and community outreach initiatives, the YRC empowers students to become active agents of change. It provides a platform for students to engage with real-world issues, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to address pressing challenges facing our society.
The YRC also excels in promoting personal development. By participating in YRC activities, students have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and a strong sense of empathy. These qualities are not only invaluable in their academic pursuits but also in their future careers and personal lives.Commerce Association :
The commerce association is governed by the Dept of commerce headed by the Dept faculty along with student representatives. The association aims to conduct various activities related to commerce, business and management activities which forms an integral part of the student development program. Activities organised under this association are faculty exchange program, Product launch, students presentations on Success stories of entrepreneurs, Discussions on union Budget, Awareness program on Commerce Education, Quiz competition and management games.
Literary Association :
In order to help the students to get rid of their nervousness, timidity and foggy thought process and make them good speakers, articulate and convincing, debates are held under the auspices of literary association of our college.
Fine arts Association :
The association has conducted a large number of cultural programmes over the years and encouraged talented students to participate in various competitions held within and outside the college. The students have brought laurels to the institution by winning a good number of prizes. The objectives of the association include provision of a platform for the students to exhibit their talent, and to develop qualities of co-operation, co-ordination and competitiveness with a culturally vibrant spirit.
College Asssembly :
College assembly play a key role in promoting a healthy and positive culture within the college. Assembly set the mood for the day with a prayer song and offer a platform to teachers as well as students to communicate a common message to the whole college in the way of Chinthana, arivu, a quiz questions are put forth by teachers and every week a write up in invited from students on current issues and for all these students are duly recognised. Principal of the college makes special announcements and appreciates student’s achievers during the sessions.
H.R.D Cell / Placement Cell :
The right choice of a career is of fundamental importance. On it depends one's success or failure in life. The H.R.D cell helps the students to choose professions and careers keeping in mind the aptitude, talent, skill resources etc.
College Wall Magazine & Chethana - College Annual :
"Chethana" - College wall Magazine is a weekly bulletin published under the guidance of a staff member and a student editorial committee. The purpose of wall magazine is to give scope for the expression of latent talents of the students. Students are invited to contribute essays, poems, short stories, articles, drawings and paintings which are scrutinised by the editorial committee before publication. Selected articles will be recommended for the college annual "Chethana".

Women cell :
Womens cell is formed with the intention of empowering the girl students of the college and providing them a platform to develop their personality. All the girl students of the college are its members. It helps to empower students to develop their potential and learning skills and to bring about attitudinal changes among the students with regard to their rights and responsibilities.

Remedial Coaching Classes :
Remedial coaching classes for the academically weaker students will be conducted. Remedial coaching classes are offered to students to enable them to acquire additional knowledge and skills in the different spheres of their study aspects.
Intellectual Property Rights
The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell of Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College is a dedicated initiative aimed at promoting awareness, protection, and utilization of intellectual property rights among students, faculty, and the broader community. As a hub for IPR-related activities, the cell strives to foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship by providing resources, support, and guidance on patents, copyrights, trademarks, and other forms of intellectual property. Through workshops, add on course, seminars, and training programs, the IPR Cell seeks to empower individuals to protect their intellectual assets and contribute to the growth of a knowledge-based economy.
Nature Club
The Nature Club our college is a vibrant student-led initiative that fosters a deep sense of environmental responsibility and a passion for nature conservation. Committed to the motto “Be with Nature, Grow with Nature”, the club aims to promote awareness about sustainability, biodiversity, and eco-friendly living among students and the community.
Human Rights Cell:
All human beings depend on the environment in which we live. A safe, clean, healthy and sustainable environment is integral to the full enjoyment of a wide range of human rights, including the rights to life, health, food, water and sanitation. Without a healthy environment, we are unable to fulfill our aspirations. We may not have access to even the minimum standards of human dignity. Keeping these issues in mind, the Human rights cell of our college organized a programme on the theme.
Rangers and Rovers:
Rangers and Rovers, the senior wing of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, is a vibrant platform dedicated to fostering leadership, discipline, and community service among young adults. Designed for individuals aged 15 to 25, this program emphasizes self-reliance, teamwork, and personal development through engaging activities and service projects. Members actively participate in community outreach, environmental conservation, disaster relief, and skill-building workshops, aligning with the Scout Law and Promise. The program also offers opportunities for adventure, cultural exchange, and national and international recognition, encouraging holistic growth.
